IDA, MOUNT [Turkish: Kazdaği] (Turkey)

Mountain SE of ancient Troy, near the Gulf of Adramyttium. Mentioned by Homer as the abode of the gods, it was the mythic scene of the judgment of Paris and the rape of Ganymede. From its highest point the gods watched the Trojan War.
